Is there a waste bin somewhere nearby for kitchen waste, compost?

Yes! There are three large black bins next to West Campus family student housing.
They are located at both ends of the garden plot area right across from the apartments. Walk to the end of WCP Lane and cut through to the road on the other side. You will see the compost bins just this side of the road.
They are courtesy UCSB Associated Students’ Department of Public Worms, which maintains them and takes care of composting the food.
